Benefits of seaweed extracts on table grapes

Field trials conducted in China clearly show that Jiejing liquid seaweed (AlgaHumic) and seaweed extract powder (AlgaPure) solutions is conducive to the growth of grape leaves at the stage of vegetative growth of table grapes. Compared with the control area, the leaves are thicker, larger, greener, softer, and shiny in the demonstration area, and its advantages are obvious.

Purpose

To verify the benefits of Jiejing liquid seaweed (AlgaHumic) and seaweed extract powder (AlgaPure) on grapes seedlings and leaves growth.

  • Time and place

Apr 10 to May 12, 2021 in Yantai China

  • Crops and fertilizers

crops: Cresson Grapes trees (3 years old)

fertilizers: Jiejing AlgaHumic (liquid seaweed), Jiejing AlgaPure (seaweed extract powder)

Control: CK

  • Field trials

Select two plots with weaker grapes growth, covering an area of 2/15 HA, to carry out the demonstration of the irrigation fertilization of AlgaHumic and AlgaPure.

Solutions: fill a 250kg bucket with water, add 10kg of AlgaHumic, then add 1kg of AlgaPure and stir (slowly and evenly)to homogenize to ensure that there is no agglomeration, and then put the fertilizer solution into dripping equipment.

Comparison data
Condition of seedling (plant height)

seaweed extracts for grapes seedling growth
seaweed extracts to promote plant growth

In summary, the addition of AlgaHumic (liquid seaweed extract) and AlgaPure (seaweed extract powder) has little effect on plant height growth during the seedling stage, and there is no sign of vigorous growth, which is conducive to the development of grape roots system.

The condition of leaves

leave size comparison

Observed on May 12, the leaf length of the grapes in the Jiejing demonstration area was larger and softer than the control area. The seaweed extracts of AlgaHumic and AlgaPure significantly promoted the growth of the leaves. The overall average length of the leaves in the control area was about 12.5cm. The overall average length of the leaves in Jiejing area is about 22.5cm.

Conclusion

1. During the early growth of grapes, AlgaHumic and AlgaPure does not show outstanding advantages in the growth of the above-ground part, and there is no sign of vigorous growth. Its effect mainly acts on underground rooting system development.

2. At the stage of vegetative growth of grapes, AlgaHumic and AlgaPure solutions is conducive to the growth of grape leaves. Compared with the control area, the leaves in the Jiejing demonstration area are thicker, larger, greener, softer and shiny, and its advantages are obvious.
