Seaweed Source

Ascophyllum nodosum is a large, common cold water seaweed or brown alga in the family Fucaceae, being the only species in the genus Ascophyllum. It is a seaweed that only grows in the northern Atlantic Ocean, also known in localities as feamainn bhuí, rockweed, Norwegian kelp, knotted kelp, knotted wrack or egg wrack. It is common on the north-western coast of Europe including east Greenland and the north-eastern coast of North America, its range further south of these latitudes being limited by warmer ocean waters.

Ascophyllum nodosum extracts (ANE) are well-established plant biostimulants that improve stress tolerance and crop vigour, while also having been shown to stimulate soil microbes. The ascophyllum nodosum seaweed extract has a long history of use as plant biostimulants. A. nodosum extracts (ANE) have been demonstrated to enhance plant tolerance to biotic and abiotic stresses through both supplementation of stress-protective compounds taken up by the plant and through elicitation of systemic responses. It is also becoming clear that seaweed extracts can indirectly influence plant health through beneficially impacting the structure and function of the plant microbiome, such as through enrichment of microbial taxa comprising mutualistic symbionts and other microbes that promote plant growth and soil nutrient cycling.

Shandong Jiejing Group collect ascophyllum nodosum with over 30 years passion and use it as material to produce seaweed extracts, which is rich in natural biologically active substances that are beneficial to the growth and development of plants and mineral nutrients absorbed by seaweed from the ocean and enriched in the body, including alginic acid, seaweed polysaccharides, phenolic polymer compounds, mannitol, betaine, as well as plant growth regulators.
